As a Merchandise Stock Associate at Ross Stores, you will be an essential part of our store team, playing a key role in ensuring our customers have access to a wide variety of merchandise. This position offers a hands-on environment where you will directly contribute to the efficient flow of goods from our delivery trucks to the sales floor. You will be instrumental in maintaining organized stockrooms, accurately processing new arrivals, and ensuring the sales floor is well-stocked and visually appealing. Your efforts will directly impact the customer experience by making it easy for them to find the products they are looking for. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn the fundamentals of retail operations within a fast-paced off-price setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and unload merchandise deliveries, verifying quantities and checking for any damages.
  • Organize and maintain the stockroom in a neat and efficient manner, ensuring easy access to merchandise.
  • Accurately process new merchandise, including tagging, pricing, and preparing items for the sales floor.
  • Replenish merchandise on the sales floor in a timely and organized manner, following visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Assist in locating and retrieving merchandise for customers as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in both the stockroom and on the sales floor.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members regarding inventory levels and stockroom organization.
  • Assist with inventory counts and other stock-related tasks as directed.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and support store goals.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise, up to a specified weight limit.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a stockroom or retail environment.
